While pregnant refrain from consuming cigarettes, alcohol as well as illicit drugs. In fact, restrict caffeine intake to a minimum. Artificial things such as x-rays, hot tubs and saunas must be avoided completely. Never go for over-the-counter drugs, since they may harm not only you but also your baby. Healthy pregnancy entirely depends upon your efforts and deeds. Never eat uncooked or semi cooked food. Avoid raw food as well because in the event of food poisoning baby may develop complications including meningitis, pneumonia and so on. Even death of baby may also occur. Smoking is also equally injurious. If you are an avid smoker, just stop smoking for the sake of your baby. Smoking while pregnant may cause serious malfunctioning of baby's body. Some harmful effects may include improper lung development, asthma and respiratory infections in baby.
